Muhammad Malook Rind, PhD
Professor
Dr. Rind has around 20 years of diversified industry, academia, research, and administrative experience at renowned national and multinational institutes/organizations. He has recently completed his 3 years’ tenure as a Head of Computer Science Department at SMI, university. He earned his PhD in Information Technology (I.T) from International Islamic University Malaysia, ME (Communication Systems and Networks), and BE (Computer systems) from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, Pakistan. Additionally, he is CCNA, CCNP (Routing & Switching), Juniper (JNCIA-ER, JNCIA-EX, JNCIA-JUNOS, JNCIS-SEC, JNCIS-ER) certified. He also attended various technical and professional trainings at UAE, Malaysia and Pakistan. Dr. Rind is an active reviewer of numerous national and international journals/conferences and also member of different statutory bodies of SMIU and other universities in Pakistan. He is author of one book and has contributed (published and presented) over 40 research articles in various ISI, Scopus, IEEE, HEC recognized journals and international conferences. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Software Defined Networking, Cloud Computing, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Data Communication. He is actively involved in supervising, BS, MS and Ph.D research projects.
Asif Ali Laghari, PhD

Asif Ali Laghari received a B.S. degree in Information Technology from Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science, and Technology, Nawabshah, Pakistan, in 2007, and a Master's degree in Information Technology from QUEST, Nawabshah, Pakistan, in 2014. From 2007 to 2008, he served as a Lecturer in the Computer and Information Science Department at the Digital Institute of Information Technology in Pakistan. In 2015, he joined the School of Computer Science & Technology at Harbin Institute of Technology, where he pursued his Ph.D. studies. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Karachi, Pakistan. He has published more than 200 technical articles in scientific journals and conference proceedings, garnering 9000 citations, and is also included in the Top 2% scientist list of Stanford University/Scopus list. He supervised more than 10 PhD and master's students. His current research interests include Machine Learning, Computer networks, cloud computing, IoT, Fog computing, gaming, and multimedia QoE management.
Sarmad Ahmed Shaikh, PhD

Dr. Sarmad has received PhD degree in Information Technology with distinction from University of Klagenfurt, Klagenfurt, Austria, in 2018. He has more than 12 years of academic and professional research experience. He has also done a significant research work at Cambridge University, UK for a short period of time. He has completed two competitive national level funded research projects as a main PI and published multiple research papers in well-reputed international and ISI indexed journals, conferences, and workshops. Dr Sarmad has been associated with SMIU since February 2020. His research interests include communication and networking, IoT and AI for location based services and information security, and signal processing for communication.
Haque Nawaz Lashari, PhD

Dr. Haque Nawaz Lashari has earned his Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D. in Computer Science from Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST), Karachi, Pakistan in 2021. He has been associated with teaching and training since 2006. He is author of 44 published research papers in national/ international HEC recognized, Impact Factor, ISI, Scopus, Journals, and IEEE conferences. His field of interests include Network technologies, Networks and communication, wireless Networks and communication, IoT, Ad Hoc Networks, MANET, VANET, UAVCN, Routing Protocols, Efficient routing and Power Algorithms, UAVs Communication, UAVs Communication Algorithms, UAVCN Routing, QoS, and Security.
Syeda Nazia Ashraf, ME

Ms. Nazia obtained M.E in Computer Systems from NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi in 2012 and BS in Computer Engineering from Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. She has teaching experience of more than 3 years at SMIU and 3 years in other institutions. Her areas of interest are Data Structures, Software Engineering, Databases, Computer Organization and Computer Vision. She is currently enrolled in PhD (CS) program at Bahria University, Karachi.
Sumaira Hussain, MS

Ms. Sumaira obtained her MS in Computer Science from Virtual University Pakistan in 2013. She has been involved in teaching since 2009. Her particular interest lies in software engineering and programming.
Sahar Zafar Jumani

Sahar Zafar Jumani holds MS in Computer Science from Shah Abdul University, Khairpur and has obtained M.Ed and BS (CS) from the same University. She has 9 years of teaching experience at university and college level. She has attended different workshop and training on learning to teach, Teaching Methodology, Assessment and Evaluation, English Teaching skill, Innovative and Modern Teaching Methodology, Research Methodology, A passionate Teacher from TRC, TDC, IBA sukkur, oxford Book Publication and, British Council.
Imran Khan, PhD

Dr. Keerio completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science and Information Technology from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) between 2020 and 2024. He also holds a Master of Science (MS) in Networks and Telecom from Mohammad Ali Jinnah University and a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) from the University of Sindh. He has been working as a lecturer at SMIU since 2016 and previously served as a Senior Project Coordinator for Interactive Group. He was also a Management Trainee at the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. His research focuses on computer communications and networks, including areas like wireless technologies, network security, Technology Acceptance and Adoption, and AI's impact on technology. He has published research in his field, with papers listed on Google Scholar and ResearchGate.
Qurban Ali, MS

Mr. Qurban has earned his MS in Computer Science with specialization in Computer Networks from Sukkur IBA University and BS in Electronics from University of Sindh, Jamshoro. His areas of interest include Information Security, Mobile CrowdSensing and Cloud Computing.
Khawaja Fahad Jawed, MS

Mr. Fahad has obtained Masters in Computer Science from SMIU in 2018 and graduation from Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology in 2014. He has been teaching undergraduate classes for more than a year. He wrote a research paper titled, ‘Impact of Multimedia on Society’ published in Sci Int.
Samreen Javed, MS

Ms. Samreen obtained MS in Computer Science from Mohammad Ali Jinnah University and is pursuing PhD at present. She also had M.Ed. in Education Management and Supervision. She has more than 10 years of teaching, administrative and managerial experience in different degree awarding military and engineering institutes. She had also served as member of Research and Audit Committee. Her areas of research are Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence. Her research papers Published in various national and international journals and conferences.
Shiza Riaz Memon, MS

Ms. Memon is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU). With five years of teaching experience, she has developed a passion for guiding students in their academic and professional journeys. She completed her Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Software Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, followed by a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science, also from NED. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, focusing on the intersection of computer science, environmental issues, and sustainability.
