SMIU organizes Naat, Qira’at competitions to celebrate ‘Ashra Rehmaul-Lil-Aalimeen (PBUH)’

Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) organized a series of events including Qira'at and Naat competitions among students and a special talk on the ‘Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH)’, celebrating the ‘Ashra Rehmaul-Lil-Aalimeen (PBUH).
Addressing the students, faculty members and staff, university’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Memon, said that Muslims should follow the Holy Quran and Sunnah for a better life. “The life of Holy Prophet (PBUH) is an ideal life for every Muslims,” he said, advising students to follow the Islamic principles of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as his teachings provide a "Mashal-e-Raah" to all the generations.
“His life is a complete code of conduct,” Prof. Memon said. He said that the Prophet of Islam talked about everything, including gender equity, justice, liberty, human rights, environment and many others issues. He urged the university students to read more and more about the life of the Prophet (PBUH) to develop a better society.
Meanwhile, SMIU’s Directorate of Student Affairs and Counseling in coordination with Allied department faculty members organised series of events at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium.
In the Qira'at competition, Shah Abdul Hadi from the department of Software Engineering secured the first position, Abdullah from Computer Science Department secured second position while Hafiz Abdur Raffay from the Department of Business Administration got third position.
In the Naat competition, Waheed Ahmed from Business Administration Department got the first position, second position was secured by Tasadiq Hussain of Computer Science Department and the third position was achieved by the student of Department of Artificial Intelligence, Abdullah Farooq.
Dr. Umair Raeesuddin, a lecturer, highlighted the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), shedding light on the concept of calling him Rehmatul-Lil-Aalimeen. He shared some great examples from the life of Holy Prophet (PBUH) stating that how an individual in today's world may lead an ideal life by following the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).
Prof. Memon also awarded certificates and cash prizes to the winners of the competitions.
