Turkish Consul General visits SMIU

The Consul General of Turkey in Karachi Mr. Tolga Ucak called on SMIU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mujeebduddin Sahrai Memon on March 25, 2021.
Mr. Ucak visited different parts of the varsity, including its museum and library. The honourable guest showed his keen interest in belongings of the founder of SMI Khan Bahadur Hassanaly Effendi because of Effendi’s Turkish legacy.
Mr. Ucak appreciated the team of the museum for keeping the historical record of SMI, its founder, alumni’s belongings, and souvenirs. He also wrote his views in the ‘Guests’ Book, lauding the use of technology in the library.
The Turkish envoy acknowledged the role of the SMI in the development of the society and especially the role of its students in the creation of Pakistan.
Mr. Ucak was very impressed by the architecture of SMI and admired the custodians of the 136-year-old building. “It was an honor and privilege to visit this historic museum and the university,” Mr Ucak said.
He assured SMIU administration for the future support in academic and research sides from the Turkish government.
