SMIU Students Leadership Program was initiated with an aim to provide a platform to the students where they can exhibit their talent and capabilities by representing the university at various national and international platforms. As a part of it, SMIU Students got opportunities of educational visits to UK, Turkey, China and Malaysia where they visited number of educational institutions and equipped themselves with a knowledge-base of various cultures and traditions.

As an extension of the same, the Students Affairs’ and Program Section feel pleased to announce SMIU Students Leadership Program 2018-19 for the students of SMIU.

Objectives of the program:

This program will enable students to:

  • Improve their communication skills
  • Expand their thinking horizons
  • Experience diverse paradigms of rituals and cultures
  • Selection process:

    The selection of the students will be based on a comprehensive process including the following steps:

  • Written Test through NTS
  • Assessment Center: A day long activities session to evaluate the students’ public speaking, critical, analytical skills, viva from the recommended books.
  • Panel Interview
  • Timeline:

    The tentative schedule for the program may be considered as follows:

    Availability of forms Monday 8th October, 2018, Wednesday 31st October, 2018
    Test through NTS 3rd week of November, 2018
    Announcement of Result by NTS 1st week of December, 2018
    Assessment Center + Panel Interview 3rd week of December, 2018
    Final list of selected students 1st week of January, 2019
    Eligibility Criteria:
    • Minimum CGPA of 2.5
    • Full time enrolment as a University Student in 2nd till 6th semester.
    • Those who are working anywhere on part time or full time basis in addition to their studies are not eligible to apply.
    • Those who have already been selected as a part of the Leadership Program in 2016 and 2017 are not eligible to apply.
    • Fee Defaulters are not eligible to be a part of this program.
    Curriculum for the test:

    A. The NTS Test may be designed taking into account the following contents:

    1) Grammar 2) Analytical questions
    3) Quick Maths
    4) Essay Writing
    5) Precis Writing
    6) General Knowledge
    7) Current Affairs
    8) Questions from the provided set of Books.

    REGISTRATION PROCESS

    1) Click this link: nilp.smiu.edu.pk
    2) Login: Enter your student ID
    3) Change your password
    4) Enter your details and submit the form.
    5) You will be shown the Challan Form/Deposit Slip. Print that Slip and deposit Rs. 1000/- in any online branch of HBL
    6) Log in again to your online account of SMIU Leadership Program by reinterring your login and password
    7) Fill in the bank deposit slip number and attach the scanned copy.
    8) Select the books for reading by clicking on the check box of each book
    9) Get the set of books by depositing computerized book inventory slip to library management

    Guidelines, Study Material and Prescribed Books will be provided to the registered students.
