Kolachi” Magazine Launched at SMIU
The Department of Media and Communication Studies of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) launched “Kolachi,” a 60-page magazine produced entirely by students of the Magazine Production Course.
Named after Karachi’s historic name, the magazine showcases students’ practical skills in print journalism, editing, design and publishing, while featuring creative contributions from students across SMIU and other universities.
Under the supervision of Dr. Nosheen Hussain, students managed the publication from concept to production and launch. Dr. Ambreen Fazal, Chairperson of the department, appreciated the students’ professional work and efforts.
Certificates were presented to contributing authors, while student organizers received letters of appreciation. Authors of the three best write-ups were also presented with Kolachi-themed gifts.
Dr. Subhash, Chairperson, Department of Social and Development Studies, Dr. Muhammad Kamil, Coordinator of the department, and others attended the ceremony.
