SMIU Celebrates Independence Day and Ma’arka-e-Haq

Sindh Madressatul Islam University celebrated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day and Ma’arka-e-Haq with patriotic enthusiasm on August 14.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai hoisted the national flag and participated in a cake-cutting ceremony at the university’s Main Building. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the leadership and vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and urged youth to follow his ideology and struggle.

Dr. Sahrai also paid tribute to Pakistan’s Armed Forces for their role in the May 2025 conflict and expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir. He congratulated the nation on Independence Day and appreciated the Directorate of Students Affairs and Counselling for organizing the celebrations from August 1 to 14.

Speeches were also delivered by Dr. Subhash and Dr. Hina Shehnaz, while lecturer Syeda Nazia Ashraf presented national songs. Certificates and shields were distributed among winners of the Independence Day and Ma’arka-e-Haq Sports Gala.
