CM Sindh Praises SMIU’s Legacy and Academic Progress at Convocation
Addressing the 6th Convocation of Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah said the university is a symbol of national pride and the alma mater of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He praised SMIU’s 140-year legacy and appreciated its remarkable progress under Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai.
The Chief Minister congratulated graduating students, faculty, staff and the university’s first PhD graduate, Dr. Abdullah Ayub Khan, calling it a significant academic milestone. He emphasized that quality PhD programs reflect the academic integrity of institutions and urged universities to uphold the highest standards in higher education.
Honourbale CM also appreciated SMIU’s financial progress from deficit to surplus and welcomed the development of its new 100-acre campus in Education City, Malir, stating that it would expand access to quality education and create employment opportunities. He assured full support of the Government of Sindh for strengthening the historic institution.
