SMIU Advances to Quarter-Finals of HEC Zone-L Cricket Championship
Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) made an impressive start in the HEC Inter-University Zone-L Cricket Championship by defeating Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari by 68 runs. Batting first, SMIU scored 185/9 in 25 overs, with Ali Ahmed Mughal contributing a quick 44 runs off 17 balls. In reply, BBSUL was dismissed for 117 runs in 17.2 overs. Captain Shahryar Idrees starred with the ball, claiming five wickets for 31 runs to seal the victory. With this win, SMIU qualified for the quarter-finals, where it will face the University of Karachi. The team’s strong performance reflected excellent leadership, teamwork, and preparation for the tournament.
