Final Proposal Defence of Three PhD Students Held at SMIU
The final proposal defence of three PhD students from SMIU’s Education Department was held at the university’s Senate Hall. Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai stressed that research must go beyond mere references, adopting a critical approach that leads to actionable findings and implementation. He reviewed the proposals rigorously, emphasizing the need to consult the latest HEC policies and Sindh education department guidelines. Of the three proposals—covering inclusive education, curriculum-market alignment, and higher education development plans—only that of Ms. Saida Batool was approved with minor changes. The other two PhD students were advised to make substantial revisions and reappear for defence after one month. Faculty members including Dr. Anjum Bano Kazmi, Dr. Aftab Ahmed Shaikh, and others attended the session.
