SMIU Holds Oath-Taking Ceremony for Newly Elected Students’ Council

Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) held the oath-taking ceremony of its newly elected Students’ Council on January 8, 2026. Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Muhammad Sohail Rajput, attended as chief guest and, along with Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, administered the oath to office bearers representing nine student societies.

Addressing the ceremony, the Ombudsman emphasized visionary and ethical leadership, appreciated SMIU’s efforts to groom young leaders, and encouraged students to serve as ambassadors of the Ombudsman’s Office. Dr. Sahrai highlighted the importance of leadership, innovation, cultural activities, and responsible use of artificial intelligence, proposing an AI Protocol Society. He also appreciated the contributions of the outgoing council and the Directorate of Student Affairs. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of appreciation certificates and souvenirs among patrons, office bearers, and distinguished guests.
