SMIU Holds Spring 2026 Orientation for Newly Admitted Students

The Department of Admissions and Examinations at Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) organized the Spring 2026 Orientation at the Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium to welcome newly admitted students and familiarize them with the university’s academic system, history, policies, and student support services.

Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai welcomed the students and described admission to a public university as both a privilege and a responsibility, noting that the state bears most of the cost of higher education. He urged students to value this opportunity through discipline, academic excellence, and ethical conduct. Highlighting SMIU’s historic legacy since its establishment in 1885, he encouraged students to make the best use of modern learning resources, engage in research and innovation, and remain committed to their academic goals.

During the orientation, deans and chairpersons briefed students on SMIU’s vision, academic programs, semester system, facilities, digital learning platforms, quality assurance mechanisms, scholarships, student societies, libraries, extracurricular activities, and university policies. Students were also informed about the Spring 2026 academic calendar, including the commencement of classes, examination schedule, and institutional rules, while emphasizing academic excellence, leadership, and responsible citizenship.
