SMIU Hosts Islamic Banking Awareness Session for Students and Faculty
The Faculty of Management, Business Administration & Commerce at Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) organized an informative Islamic Banking Awareness Session for students and faculty members, featuring experts from Bank Alfalah Islamic and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of Islamic finance, Shariah-compliant banking principles, and the growing role of Islamic banking in Pakistan’s financial sector. The distinguished speakers included Ms. Sara Sajjad, Deputy Chief Manager, SBP; Mr. Ali Ahsan, Unit Head Product Development, Bank Alfalah Islamic; Mufti Usama Ehsan, Member Shariah Board, Bank Alfalah Islamic; Mr. Mohammad Faizan Zafar, Assistant Chief Manager, SBP; and Mr. Iftikhar Ullah, Senior Officer, SBP BSC Karachi.
The experts shared valuable insights on Islamic financial products, Shariah governance, product development, and the regulatory framework of Islamic banking under the supervision of SBP. Students actively participated in the interactive session and benefited from practical industry knowledge and professional guidance.
