SMIU Vice Chancellor Welcomes New Students at Orientation Session
SMIU organised an orientation session for newly admitted students of the Fall 2025 semester, where Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai urged students to value education, respect their teachers and make productive use of their time for a successful future.
Addressing the session organised by the Department of Examination and Admissions, Dr. Sahrai said SMIU students are privileged to study at a historic institution with a 141-year legacy of academic excellence in Karachi. He advised students to think beyond graduation and pursue higher learning and professional development to excel in their careers.
The Vice Chancellor also highlighted the role of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Sindh Higher Education Commission in strengthening university education and quality standards in the country.
Welcoming the students, Dr. Sahrai said SMIU is the alma mater of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and many distinguished personalities, encouraging students to contribute positively towards the development of the country.
Deans Dr. Aftab Ahmed Shaikh and Dr. Jamshed Adil Halepoto, along with faculty members and departmental heads, introduced students to academic departments, university facilities and student support services available at SMIU.
