VC SMIU Highlights Historic Academic Milestones at Convocation
Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, in his address at the 6th Convocation of Sindh Madressatul Islam University, thanked Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, distinguished guests, faculty, staff and the organising committee for making the event successful.
Congratulating the graduating students and their parents, Dr. Sahrai termed the occasion historic as the university awarded its first PhD degree to Dr. Abdullah Ayub Khan under the supervision of Dr. Aftab Ahmed Shaikh. He said SMIU had undertaken major reforms in research culture and postgraduate education since 2020, resulting in significant academic progress, while several more PhD scholars are nearing completion.
The Vice Chancellor also highlighted that SMIU has transformed from a deficit institution into a surplus university during the last two years and appreciated the continued support of the Government of Sindh, particularly Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. He expressed hope that graduates would serve the country with dedication and professional excellence.
